We don't expect it to replace it, but we know it will live along side it as an integral part of mass entertainment. This opens up excellent opportunities for companies to take a piece of the media action now, without having to pay National advertising rates to get it.
What do we need in place and what should we hope to achieve? The Internet is a global market and growing daily. Your company needs the infrastructure and other "Site Content" to maximise on the hits we can generate for you. Your web site also needs the bandwidth to be able to deliver to meet the demand. We can advise you on this.
What kind of programs are available? Soaps, sit-coms, cartoons, kids, adventure, educational, current affairs and debate …. You name it!
How long is each episode? On the net, people don't want to hang about running up their phonebill, so our episodes are aimed at 300 second time slots. But they're episodes that they'll remember and talk about. Word of mouth promotion is the tool for the Millennium.
How does licensing work? To have exclusive rights to a program costs a lot of money. Customisation (see later) is much more cost effective. We are happy to discuss exclusivity if you can afford it. Licensing means that you may not be the only person using that material at that time, or that someone else won't use it later. However, our broadcast rotation system and customisation options means this is less likely than with a normal license. We are also pleased to discuss STE (Short-Term Exclusivity) license periods, which give you guaranteed exclusivity during a set period.
What happens if it proves too popular and we exceed our licensed hit rate? We will notify you if you are in danger of exceeding your allocation. You can either withdraw the media or you can pay the excess charge on a flat rate of 1p per excess hit.
What sort of customisation can we include? Customisation means that we keep the basic plot, scenario and characters but customise them to suit your companies individual needs. Because most of the work is done, we can offer customisation at a very cost effective rate, but it appears to be more exclusive to you. Also because of the range of programs and episodes we have, rotation means that your output is unlikely to clash with anyone else's.
What can we do with our license? Each episode may only be broadcast or archived for a set period, as you would expect with a real-time TV station. The license period will be stated in your contract.
Who owns the Copyright? The BLT Group always retains the original copyright and control of all material produced by us, including any customisation. Your license will give you certain permissions to use the material, for an exclusive period as stated, if relevant.
What will Web TV do to promote its own service and help get our site hits? We have our own advertising campaign planned - through our own system of cross banners, Web TV Times media centre, Email out campaigns and traditional advertising of trailers. The current campaign is called "Can you believe my eyes?!"
How soon can we make our site broadcast live? Within 30 days of signing the contracts and your initial payment clearing. Each episode will then be delivered (or uploaded for you if you prefer) 7 days before it is due to go live.
